The exotic, as something strange, from the unknown, raises the question of what is the state of the metamorphosis of the concept itself. In ‘life-as-we-know-it’, the barrier between the organic, the artificial and true, will become more diffuse and abstract, making us wonder about life as an abstraction, the possibility of it being artificial or inhuman, and the ‘light’ as the essential power for it’s own legitimacy.
We were invited to “Louro e Bambu — segundo acto, figuração do exótico”, an exhibition curated by Luis Nunes, Luis Albuquerque and Valdívia Tolentino to make an art piece around the concept of exotic, incorporating light.
